In the early morning hours of Sunday January 10, Hamilton Fire was dispatched to a reported structure fire, fire in the basement at 1937 Randallsville Road. Assistant Chief Holcomb was the first unit on the road followed by Chief Hoham. Asst. Chief Holcomb arrived reporting a 2 story wood frame , smoke showing from the roof line. Engine 194 arrived and made entry into the first floor knocking down the fire encountered and proceeded to search for the basement stairs, and by this point 194 was getting water from Tanker 196 and Rescue 195 had arrived assuming back up crew duty. 2 attempts at making the basement were unsuccessful and the third push in was halted by possible structural compromise and command stopped all interior operations, Mutual aid was received from Earlville, Sherburne, Morrisville, Madison, Hubbardsville and SOMAC Ambulance, Temperatures in the morning were in the -10 degree range. HFD units operated for approximately 5 hours before returning to service.Chief Hoham had the Command and Asst Chief Holcomb and Asst. Chief Marks had front and rear sector operations.
