At 00:38 hrs on May 18, 2009  the Hamilton Fire Department was dispatched to 89 Hamilton street for a reported  chimney fire. Assistant Chief Marks arrived on scene reporting smoke and sparks from the chimney, all occupants reported out of the building. 194 (Capt. Murray) arrived on scene at 00:44 and reported a light smoke condition in the first floor of the residence. 197 (Lt. Simpson) arrived on scene at 00:47 and was given the order to go to the roof and prepare to assist with extinguishment.  An investigation revealed that fire was confined to the chimney pipe. Units remained on scene until 01:43 venting the smoke from the building.
