The Hamilton Fire Department is a New York State certified Basic Life Support first response rescue agency. The Department members respond to all medical emergency calls within the primary response area that meet the county's dispatch criteria for an Advanced Life Support (Priority 1) call. Hamilton Fire Department currently has 13 certified EMT's and 1 Paramedic.

Both of HFD's rescue units (Heavy 195 / Light duty 195-1) are state certified BLS rescue units and are equipped with full compliments of EMS gear and equipment including automated external defibrillators (AED's).
